Where from and why for?

Oct 12, 2009 9:40 AM by Discussion: Community

Just noticed when clicking a name in the forums and going to their profile page... there's now an 'add a note' under the karmas.

What's that for?

all I was was to be animated

So....

I made (or.. apparently tried to make) a post last night on the Impulse Forums.... can't find it anywhere.

I don't know if it's because:

1) the forums have been going 'BOOM' quite a bit this weekend (at least for me).

or

2) TrendMicro doesn't like IMPULSEivness:

Going to the Impulse forums using Impulse or any browser... I'm bombarded with warnings...

I had read for the animations on the Halloween skin I needed 6.30.100

SDC shows I have 6.30.099 with no update available

Impulse shows I have 6.30.099 with no update available

Impulse's Dock says there's an update - which is not available using the dock apparently

The question(s) I had posted included:

1) what version of netframework is needed for Impulse? Currently I have NFW 1.1 & 2.0... but I don't know if I need 3.0 or 3.5 & whether it can be installed alongside the other 2 or does one, the other or both need to be removed.

2) how can you tell if Impulse is updating itself with no status bar?

3) why does Impulse keep popping out a message telling me it's decided to work offline since it can't connect to the servers, yet I can use Impulse to go to the forums, chat, etc (at least chat doesn't give me warnings)

4) why does Impulse always say I'm not logged in?

5) how can I get it to log in?  I tried to manually log in using the change my log in procedures but it can't connect to the servers

6) I have earthlink dialup w/accelerator - TrendMicro 2007 w/firewall - proxy is set to localhost 8080 which seems to work on everything else (SDC included)

7) will WB6.30.100 ever be available on SDC?  I have no probs with SDC - it opens and IDs updates within a minute

I'm willing to work with Impulse, but dammit Capn uh dunna think uh ken hold er

no porn in title - no support shows up

As mentioned last month in my post concerning passing naked aliens in moderation, SDC won't archive either in auto or manually.

Seems my xml data is missing.

Tried each server, updating each time 1st.
Refreshed xml data each time (3895kb)
My xml data is still lacking.

The only way I can archive is to select one that available then download and archive.
In order to use it, I have to unistall the version I'm using first ---- but since I can't archive that one, I'll lose it.

I like making archives of the version I'm using in case I have to roll back.

But I can't

original title of SDC won't archive/install WB wasn't getting replies :(

edit @ 14:02

Now that I have your attention:

SDC version (again): 2.41.447, build: 145
was running WB 5.50.021

For the last couple of versions of SDC, when I click the update it wouldn't work.
I have SDC set to autoarchive on update and that it would do, but then it would just sit at 100% archived and never download the update.

Got to the point where I would self archive, switch to default skin, uninstall, reboot then download/install WB.

This weekend it wouldn't even archive WB - kept getting a message saying (I believe) wb.xml 0 not found. I forgot to take a shot of it. I get the same thing attempting to archive Webblinds:

There was an error installing WebBlinds. The Following error occurred:

Load: C:\Program Files\Stardock\SDCentral\installed\wl.xml 0 (file not found)
Result: Installation failed (13)

Would you like to view the installation log file?

View log Cancel

View log didn't do anything = nothing came up.

Things I have tried:

SDC settings: Refreshed xml data - still wouldn't archive.
tried updating both servers / refreshing list and xml data on each server

Restored SDC to an earlier version - refreshed lists / refreshed xml data = wouldn't archive

reopened SDC - updated to newest version (again) - still wouldn't archive.
refreshed lists / xml data = still nada.

I even reinstalled SDC over it self = nothing. That usually fixes other issues.

So I figured WTH, I'll just unistall WB without archiving. I gots lots of other versions.
Uninstalled, rebooted (after the reboot I started getting CXP error must close every time I tried to run CXP - so I used Mikes .bat to reregister script = CXP came back - rebooted again), opened SDC, clicked install around 22:30-23:30 my time.
15.61MB + Rural Dialup = I watched for a while to make sure it was gonna do it, then went to bed. It was at around 17%.

At around 06:10 it was downloading at 75%.
At around 07:25 it was downloading at 39%.
At around 07:45 I killed it.

I haven't restored an archived on yet.
It lets me archive some things, some not - haven't gone through the list yet = just tired WB = no /WBlinds = no / object media & sweeper = yes
Any suggestions?

With out messing up other stuff.

I'm guessing it's due to the early time change.

ND is an hour ahead.

If I right click my systray clock and uncheck the auto daylight savings time box, then manually set the time.. ND follows suite. As soon as I check the box, ND jumps ahead.

I hadn't noticed it until I read this post.

Unchecking the box and manually setting the time messes with Outlook.
